In Spain, SPORTFIVE operates through its fully owned subsidiary SPORTFIVE IBERIA. Their main areas are sales growth and providing support to the Global Sales Organization, esports business development and internationalization and consulting projects for rightsholders.

The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and delivery of the following areas in the rightsholder (LaLiga football club) premises

  • Partnership Sales (main role)
  • Third-party events Sales
  • Marketing

The Sales Director will be responsible for prospecting, pursuing, acquiring and developing new brand partnerships for the rightsholders, including market third-party rights events, related at rightsholder premises and meeting the partnership sales forecasts. The role is expected to support the Managing Director Spain in leading and structuring a team on ground under a rightsholder contract to maximize commercial revenues in coming years and implement SPORTFIVE methodology, product development and market sales approach.

 

ESSENCE OF ROLE- Key Responsibilities

 

Partnership and third-party events rights & marketing

 

  • Lead Sponsorship & third-party events sales and Marketing team for the rightsholder
  • Build and implement sales & marketing strategy together with SPORTFIVE HQ and Marketing team at the rightsholder
  • Product development and sales materials together with SPORTFIVE HQ and rightsholder marketing team
  • Develop professional relationships with existing clients and search for upsell opportunities
  • Effectively build new relationships, through identifying key decision-makers
  • Understand brand marketing strategies, figure out needs and requirements and create customized offers based on these information
  • Convince potential partners of the advantages provided by the discipline of sports sponsorship & hospitality
  • Establish and maintain high-level sales performance and customer service
  • Develop new businesses and sales materials for the stadium and identify prospect clients and network

 

 

General

 

  • Works within established policies and procedures to achieve financial, strategic and service goals and objectives of the project
  • Investigate and analyze local sales practices to create new systems or revise established procedures

 

 

Teamwork & Communication

 

  • Responsibility to communicate effectively across all corporate levels (including management) and across all stakeholders
  • Ensure a ‘customer centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders

 

 

Reporting

 

  • Double reporting line to Managing Director Spain and rightsholder CEO
  • Communicate assignments, milestones and deadlines for rightsholders sales & marketing team
  • Support rightsholder CEO to establish reporting process to completely manage the sales status

 

 

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business Administration with focus on marketing or degree in Sports with focus on sports management/ marketing
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office – especially Power Point
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Work experience in a similar position (marketing/media agency, partnerships sales in sports properties) for a minimum of 5 years
  • Field-specific knowledge (sports and sales)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Degree in Business Administration with focus on marketing or degree in Sports with focus on sports management/ marketing
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office – especially Power Point
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
