We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our Licensing Sales Team in Marseille. This exciting new role will be reporting to the Executive Director in charge of Revenue, Marketing & Medias to lead the licensing sales strategy. The team is responsible for developing, negotiating and selling licenses and new products at Olympique de Marseille.

 

Job summary:

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute and execute long term strategies.
  • Execute the commercial management of a series of our existing key accounts.
  • Help evaluate licensee base and drive a rationalisation plan to ensure effective and focused business management and strategic planning to support growth across categories
  • Identify, pitch and secure new licensees that enhance the category growth in a substantial manner.

Relationships are key to the success of this role, both internally and externally.

You will be required to actively manage and cultivate the engagement, partnership and joint business planning with each account, new and existing, in order to negotiate new contracts and ultimately drive and deliver strategic growth in licensing sales on behalf of the global business.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in licensing sales and have a deep understanding of the licensing industry. The role requires someone able to use key trends, commercial and consumer insight to develop and drive strategies cross-company and departmentally whilst being agile to capitalise on the moment and identify new opportunities and target partners.

A successful experience in sports marketing will be appreciated

 

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Help implement the long-term strategy for the global licensing strategy in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the annual operating plan & quarterly forecasting process, developing supplier (Licensee) objectives and strategies to drive growth, working with markets, product development & finance.
  • Responsible for the sales budget.
  • Actively manage and cultivate the relationship engagement, partnership and joint business planning with each account, new and existing.
  • Execute contract negotiations and appropriately inform all key stakeholders
  • Work hand in hand with the creative and marketing teams.
  • Help execute new business development, research projects and market meetings.

 

Skills, experience & requirements:

  • Min 8/10 years experience in licensing sales strategy within the sports or entertainment industry
  • Able to analyse data and construct practical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Proven track record of management and sales development
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work flexible hours, attend matches and travel when required (sometimes on short notice),
  • Computer literate including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Sales & marketing skills
  • English & French: fluent
